Not another program. A system built for the leaders who are already here — and the New Mexico they'll shape for decades.
Project Youth Rising (PYR) is a cohort-forming system for long-arc public leadership. We are grounded in the belief that many of New Mexico's future leaders are already here — organizing, serving, learning, and building — and too often doing so alone.
PYR exists to help already-emerging leaders find one another earlier, grow together with integrity, and remain in the work long enough to create change.
We believe power is already present. What is often missing is alignment, shared time horizon, and a sense of collective rise.
PYR orients toward the long view: that the relationships formed among serious young people today will shape how New Mexico is lived in, cared for, and imagined in the decades ahead.
To develop the next generation of New Mexico's young leaders by providing training, mentorship, and community grounded in public service, courage, and long-term leadership.
New Mexico's future depends on the leaders we build today. Young people already have the vision and motivation to lead, but often lack the structure, support, and statewide network to rise together. PYR fills that gap — connecting leaders, developing leaders, and sustaining leaders over the long arc.
A personal note from the founder on PYR's long-view purpose and the kind of leadership culture it seeks to build.

That's the feeling we're building toward. Join PYR and find your cohort.
